I finished this book. I would like to share my favorite quote.

The quote is “I’ll still see him all the time, anyway. Or at least, a lot of time”(p.g.273). This quote was told by Mia to Michael. Michael is older than Mia, and so he will go to a university. At first, Mia was worry about that, however, she has believed him since the prom. Then she said this quote. She doesn’t care distance between him and her. She believes that his and her love is strong. I chose it, because I want to think like that for someone in the future. I think that believing someone is very important even the person is not lover. If people can believe other people, they can do anything, for example, study, teach or continue to love each other etc. So I like this quote.

I recommend “Princess in Pink” to read to teenagers, because in this book, characters are almost the same age as us. They use teen’s words like bad words. I guess teens can image story easily, because it is about school life and love. This book is like diary of main character. This book is very fun, and so I really recommend to read, especially girls.

I have almost done this book. Mia was invited from her boyfriend, Michael. The reason why he didn’t invite her is that he thought “the prom is lame”. But Mia and Michael talked about the prom and finally Michael decided to go to the prom then Mia became so happy. At the day of the prom, she tried to make up her face, hair and even nails. She is so exciting. I put a picture that shows she is very exciting. She said “I’m a PROM PRINCESS!!!!” (pg.261)

When I read this part, I thought every girl wants to be looks beautiful. As you know, almost all the girls like to make up themselves. I like too. In this part, Mia talked about nails, hair style, and dress. I imaged the time that I’m painted my fingernails. During this time, I’m so exciting, because I’m watching how to paint. It is interesting. Also I pleasured the completion nails. I like make my hair to roll. I like these time. I guess that only girls can image this situation, because boys don’t paint their nails and make up their face. But I guess they care about their hair style. So I suggest to image the time that you make up your hair style when you have a party. (if you are a boy) It is exciting, isn’t it?

6th independent reading response

One Sunday, Mia talked with her mother about relationship between her and Michael. Her mom wanted to know how they are. She asked questions a lot, but Mia didn’t answer, and she said only “Okay, mom” Or “Thanks, mom”. After that time, Mia started to clean up her room, because she always feels like she has to clean her room before she can start homework. After she cleaned her room, she went to back her bed again. Then her mom came her room and said “Why are you still in bed at noon on Sunday? Isn’t this when you usually meet your friends for dim sum?”
I like the quote which Mia said when she talked about reason of cleaning up. It is “Something about a clear environment making for clear thinking” (pg.121). I always think this too. And she continued to say that “Maybe it’s just because homework is so boring I‘ll take any excuse to put off doing it” (pg.121). Again I think that too. Before I start to study or do homework, I start to clean up my room, because I don’t want to start study. Then I always find some pictures or interesting books, and then I start to read them. I think that I and Mia are similar thinking so I noticed that I can continue to read this book because of that.

5th independent readin response

Mia talked about what she got presents form her family or friends. She explained very details. And then she said “I should have known it was too good to be true. My birthday, I mean.” She thinks this party was too good. Finally she said present of Michael was the best for her. Mia said about her mother’s bad thing. She doesn’t like the part of her grandmother. At the part which Mia’s birthday her grandma brought her dog. And its reason is just if her grandma leaves, her dog will be along.

I think she is very girlish. I know Mia is girl, but her thinking is very pretty, because she always thinks about her boyfriends, Michael. After her birthday party, she every chapter talked about the song which was made by Michael. I’m a girl too, but I couldn’t think about only boyfriends or person who I like. Mia is very virgin. When I read this book, I always thought about it.

4th independent reading response

Mia became fifteen years old and so she made a plan that she will quit a lot of things, for example, ”Stop biting my nails. Make decent grades. etc” Mia is very impatient about Michael hasn’t invited her to go to the prom yet. Her friends are inviting. She doesn’t have time to prepare. She always prays to God.

I recall that when my birthday is coming, I care that my friends remember, or not. Also I care that my friends give me presents, or not. But it is also my pleasure. But in Mia’s case, she is not enjoyment about it. She became fifteen years old and she thinks she is not young. Her friends look very happy and preparing to go to the prom.

3rd Independent Reading Respons

In this story, she became fifteen years old. She got 5 e-mails. The best e-mail is Michael’s one for her, because there is a animation and finally there is words that “Love you”. She was so glad and said “love him” a lot of time. And then she said “Not a girl. Not yet a woman. Just like Britney.” She doesn’t actually feel any different, but she feels she is getting a woman.

I know the song which “I’m Not a girl, Not yet a woman”. I like this song, because lines are very good. “I'm not a girl, not yet a woman. All I need is time A moment that is mine While I'm in between” this is the best I like line. I’m seventeen years old, and so I’m not a girl and not yet woman. I guess all girls think like this line. I guess in the next chapter Mia will try to approach to Michael to be invited, because the prom will be coming soon.

2nd Independent Reading Response

The story is that Mia is still waiting for inviting by Michael. He always hung up with other friends, but didn’t invite her to go to the prom. On April 30, the next day is Mia’s birthday. So she invited Michael the dinner and the party. But she thought that it is not romance, because in the dinner and party, there are her mother, father, grandmother, her boyfriend and his sister. She wants to make party and dinner with only Michael. But she likes her family so she thought that it is not worth. Mia still wants to be invited by Michael to go to the prom and she thinks a lot of time.
This story can be connected with my birthday. When I was a middle school student, my friends said that they planned my B-day party. I was so glad, but every my B-day, I ate dinner with my family. It was kind of rule. So I thought which way would be fan. And then I chose my friends. Therefore, I remember this story, when I was reading this book. I guess that Mia act something like that making message. I mean she will try to be invited by Michael, and so she will approach to him.
