One Sunday, Mia talked with her mother about relationship between her and Michael. Her mom wanted to know how they are. She asked questions a lot, but Mia didn’t answer, and she said only “Okay, mom” Or “Thanks, mom”. After that time, Mia started to clean up her room, because she always feels like she has to clean her room before she can start homework. After she cleaned her room, she went to back her bed again. Then her mom came her room and said “Why are you still in bed at noon on Sunday? Isn’t this when you usually meet your friends for dim sum?”
I like the quote which Mia said when she talked about reason of cleaning up. It is “Something about a clear environment making for clear thinking” (pg.121). I always think this too. And she continued to say that “Maybe it’s just because homework is so boring I‘ll take any excuse to put off doing it” (pg.121). Again I think that too. Before I start to study or do homework, I start to clean up my room, because I don’t want to start study. Then I always find some pictures or interesting books, and then I start to read them. I think that I and Mia are similar thinking so I noticed that I can continue to read this book because of that.

"Before I start to study or do homework, I start to clean up my room, because I don’t want to start study." I don't understand this part that you wrote. Can you explain more?
I certainly understand what you mean, Ayaka. My mother used to call this procrastination. I still do it today. When I have papers to mark I might start uploading them on my computer. The next thing I know I am surfing the net or checking my email. I have found that confining myself to a place where I can't move and can't do anything but the important task really works. I usually go to a spa and mark my papers while getting a foot massage. If I bring only my work, I can't possibly do anything else.
